Patrick Lucas is writer, storyteller, public speaker, film maker and story consultant.

As the son of an officer in the Royal Canadian Airforce, Patrick grew up travelling and experiencing different communities and cultures, across Canada and Internationally. He continued this lifestyle as an adult living in British Columbia, Canada, China, and South East Asia.

Throughout his life he has used writing and storytelling to explore and understand the world around him. Through his writing Patrick explores themes of conscientious travel, community, culture, sacred places, and personal revelation to gain a greater understanding of how we create a sense of place and belonging. He has been extensively published as a travel writer, social commentator, feature writer for numerous magazines, and blogs.

Patrick is also a successful public speaker and storyteller with appearances at numerous festivals and conferences including the Flame Storytelling series, Sam Sullivan’s Public Salon, and the Vancouver International Fringe Festival.

Patrick has been featured in, as well as co-written, produced and advised as a story consultant on numerous film and television productions. His most recent projects included Anthill Film’s award-winning documentary series Return to Earth on Outside TV and a feature edit, Allies, on Redbull TV’s broadcast of the Crankworx Mountain Bike Festival.

Patrick is also the founder and director of the Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program, a trail planner and project coordinator with First Journey Trails and an award-winning community planner.
